System Reconditioning is the process of re-applying quality assurance and system maintenance measures to existing installations to optimize energy efficiency and system performance.

IoT-enabled lighting systems are typically reliable, but they are sensitive to user error. It's not uncommon for existing system devices to ``fall off the network`` when a user attempts to adjust lighting levels or troubleshoot a possible system error. This inadvertent process can cause problems throughout an entire system if left unchecked for long periods, resulting in lost energy savings and lower levels of performance.

While commissioning is required during the installation of a new networked controls system, System Reconditioning is the process of evaluating how the existing system is operating post-installation—and eliminating systemic, repeated failure of the devices to ensure systems run at peak performance.
